Fall Northern Lights Package

Follow us on Twitter and Facebook!
This package provides the best of Alaska's summer activities with the opportunity to view the famed Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).  We pick lodging and activities geared towards providing the best possible Aurora viewing combined with fantastic daytime activities and superior travel lodging.

Day 1: You arrive in Anchorage, you pick up your rental car, and enjoy a night at one of Anchorage's finest B&Bs. Look for the northern lights tonight, starting around 10:30PM.

Day 2: Today you'll head down to Seward to take a half-day cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park. After your cruise, you'll retire to a cabin on a lake, away from city lights. Look for the northern lights tonight!

Day 3: You'll start the day today with some time on your own and a visit to the Alaska Sea Life Center. Then you'll head off on the Real Alaska Tour, showing you the historical and natural sights of Seward, lunch at Resurrection Roadhouse, a visit to Exit Glacier, and a dog sledding demonstration at the kennel of the 2004 Iditarod winner, Mitch Seavey. After your tour, you'll head back to Anchorage. Watch for beluga whales in Turnagain Arm, on your way back. You'll spend the night at a great B&B in Anchorage. Look for the northern lights later tonight!

Day 4: Today you'll head north to Talkeetna, the jumping-off point for Mt.
McKinley mountain climbing expeditions. You'll head off on a Denali adventure of your own, with a one hour flightseeing trip up to the face of North America's tallest mountain. Later in the afternoon, explore one of Alaska's most colorful towns, and then spend the night at a great B&B. Watch for the northern lights tonight!

Day 5: Take a jet boat safari today, and explore the rivers around Talkeetna. Watch for moose, bald eagles spawning salmon and bears. Take a nature walk and learn about the importance of Alaska's rivers as highways for the early residents of the area. After your safari, head north to Denali National Park. Along the way you'll have the chance to stop in Denali State Park, and peer over the edge at Hurricane Gulch. When you get to Broad Pass, pull over and take a few minutes to pick some wild Alaskan blueberries. This evening you'll spend the night in a cabin away from city lights, just north of the park. Look for the northern lights tonight!

Day 6: Head into Denali National Park and explore the park using the park shuttle system. Bring a picnic, and get on and off as much as you like. Denali National Park is a gigantic park, so you'll need more than just a day to explore. This evening head back to your cabin and get ready for the northern lights tonight!

Day 7: You'll get another day to explore the park. Head into the park and hike, take pictures, watch for wildlife, or catch a glimpse of the mountain. Head back to your cabin tonight and look for the northern lights!

Day 8: Today you'll head north to Fairbanks, and get your best chance yet to see the northern lights. You'll spend the night at one of Fairbanks' best B&Bs. In the evening, take a short drive north of town and watch for the northern lights.

Day 9: Today you'll head back to Anchorage to catch a late evening flight home. Get a seat on the left side of the plane, and watch for the northern lights from the plane!
